PART 3 – REFLECTIONS
14. Question 14 – Experimentation & Improvisation (Sample Answer)
While making images, I noticed that working without a fixed plan helped me discover unexpected results. The process I enjoyed most was improvising with materials and letting the image develop organically rather than trying to control every detail. Some of the most successful outcomes came from experimenting freely, especially when I allowed accidents or spontaneous decisions to guide the composition. The final image was often a surprise and differed from my initial expectations, which made the process more engaging. Improvisation played a key role, and I enjoyed trying unfamiliar techniques and materials.
15. Question 15 – Range of Representation (Sample Answer)
I began this project with quick sketches and simple visual studies before refining the images further. I explored different levels of abstraction by simplifying forms, adjusting contrast, and experimenting with stylization. Working across these levels helped me discover new visual possibilities and ways of representing my subject. One of the abstract versions stood out to me because it communicated the essence of the subject with very minimal detail, and I would like to explore this direction further in future work.
